About Us
Our Mission
Vets and Cowboys is a not-for-profit organization located on 100 acres of farmland, grassland and wooded areas in Watseka, Illinois. We share nature’s open space with horses, deer, quail, turkeys, foxes, beaver, hawks, and other wildlife. One of our organization’s missions is to help train employ the under-served communities of Illinois.
What We Do
We provide immersive learning experiences that become a model for individuals pursuing opportunities in agriculture and agribusiness. Our training program exposes the trainee to agencies such as to USDA field offices, Farm Service Agency, Natural Resource Conservation Service, Rural Development, the Cooperative Extension Service, the Departments of Labor and Veterans Affairs, the Small Business Administration, Work force Opportunity and/or other federal entities at the regional, state or local levels..
Hands-On Training Program (weekends or week days sessions)
Our hands on 10-week training sessions allows interested individuals to pursue careers across food and agricultural sectors with the necessary skills, training and experience to lead to meaningful employment opportunities in turn strengthens personal finances and rural economies .
